Accessing Your Staff Development Record

At the end of the school year, your Professional Development Plan requires you to show records for your credits.  You can access this information easily.  However, the site the county set up for you to check your CEUs can only be viewed with Internet Explorer. We don't have Internet Explorer on any of our classroom iMacs or eMacs. You may not be able to view your CEUs using those machines. However, there are two HPs in the media center that have Internet Explorer on them. You can view your CEUs on those machines.

The directions are listed below.

Staff Development Calendar

Brenda Kasell received the Staff Development calendar from Kathi Roberts, on August 1st.  This is the most up-to-date calendar that has been received by administration.  Click on the link above to view the Staff Development Calendar.   If an edited version is sent, this page will be updated.

Directions for Entering DRA Demographic Data

Teachers will be expected to update the demographic data for every student in their classes.  A specific deadline has not yet been provided, but know that it will be coming soon.  It is important that everyone know how to do this.  Therefore, directions are provided below:

DEMOGRAPHIC DATA must be entered for each student in UCPS that has been assessed with DRA2 Online Management System.  To complete this data, teachers must do the following:

Step 1:                          Login as usual

Step 2:                           Near the top of the Welcome Screen, select Student Management

Step 3:                           Select a student from the class list on the left side of the screen

Step 4:                           Select the Demographics tab found at the top of each student’s

information screen (listing their ID#, grade level, birth date, etc.)

Step 5:                            On EACH pull down menu that appears next, teachers MUST

make a selection.  No demographic category should be left blank.

So, for each category, teachers should choose the following:

GENDER:                         Select male or female (that’s a no-brainer!)

SPECIAL NEEDS:           Choose IEP Yes OR IEP No

Socioeconomic Status:           Select N/A for ALL students (even if aware of

free/reduced lunch status) as this info is highly

confidential and should NOT be entered

MIGRANT:                           Select Migrant  OR Non Migrant

ETHNICITY:                         Select Race (If multi-racial – select OTHER)

LANGUAGE:                        Select English as a Second Language ONLY for students currently being served in the                                               ESL program

AIG:                                       In 3-5 Select AIG Yes OR AIG No,

    In K-2 Select N/A

RETAINED:                         Select Retained Yes OR Retained No – based on whether or not this student has EVER                                              been retained

STEP 6:                               Click “Save changes” at the bottom of the screen and a red message “Demographic                                                 Information Saved Successfully” appears on the screen to confirm the changes have                                              been made.

STEP 7:                               Repeat these steps for every student.

Directions for Entering Data for Non-Tested Students
(DRA Data)

The 3rd thru 5th grade teachers must go into every student's DRA2 on-line file and enter something. For students who are not being tested because they are on or above grade level, teachers simply click on the same symbol they normally use to enter the test results for each student and do the following:

  • Typically, the first step is to select the level of the book used during the DRA assessment.  Teachers should click the arrow that generates that list of all the book levels, and find the statement at the very top of this list that says "NOT TESTED" which they should click.
  • Next, the teacher will see another pull-down menu listing some possible reasons for not giving the DRA test.  Select "OTHER" and then type one of 2 things into the text box that comes up next.  They will type either "ON GRADE LEVEL"  or "ABOVE GRADE LEVEL".
  • That's all you need to do for each student who is not being assessed.

I hope this helps!
